Penrith
was the host city for the Olympic rowing and canoe/kayak competitions
in 2000. Athletes from the Polish Olympic Team stayed at “The Vines
Holiday Cottages” in the Olympic Cottage while competing at the
Whitewater Rafting Centre and Sydney International Regatta Centre, both
venues being only 15 minutes drive from The Vines, holiday
cottage accommodation. Since then we are reguarly visited by the Institutes
of Sport, rowers and overseas paddlers.
In
the Olympic Cottage
your group will sleep comfortably in a luxurious dormitory style arrangement. You
don't have to share internal facilities with strangers because your group
is the only one! No security worries. Some double bunks but mostly single
beds. Two floors of sleeping area. So mixed groups can have separate bedroom
areas. Three bathrooms and a common area make it perfect for larger groups.
The Sports
House provides a larger kitchen for groups. Meetings, small conferences
and events can utilise these faclities whilst staying in the other two
cottages. It also has three twin share bedroom.
Guests have access to the 14-metre pool, ˝ hectare of open space surrounded by Australian gum trees. A volley ball net, basket ball ring and table tennis table are provided for use of all guests.
